Dragonknight’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is not just a film. Its role in cultural evolution of human being is as important as Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Mozart’s symphonies, Shakespeare’s tragedies, Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Tolstoy’s War and Peace. A turning point not just in Sci-Fi genre but in the history of cinema as well. The Star Gate sequence which is perhaps the most incredible sequence of all times is a collection of images and colors and has a dream like quality to it, a proof for Kubrick’s endless visual genius. A movie that defies any definition and instead introduces new ways and techniques to cinema. A movie directed by a master (Kubrick), written by a prophet of science-fiction (Arthur.C.Clark) and composed by Johan Strauss! A true cinematic odyssey.
