Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once ★★★½

as much as it feels filled with genuine heart and sincerity, its brought down by constant cloying attempts at family guy humour, it’s incessant references and it’s almost cocky self-assuredness. when it sticks to its emotional high-points and family dynamics it really works, and it’s fight choreography is consistently impressive, if only it actually stuck to those strengths a little more. the cast is uniformly great though, yeoh rocks. also the queer arc in this is resolved in an almost hilariously neat way - netflix show level. this sounds really negative, but i did enjoy it, just wish it connected with me as much as it seems to have with others.
