Well, that was certainly... um... something. Dan Aykroyd has had better films, but this movie isn't an unpleasant way of killing 90 minutes.
This special has been on TV every year since I was a kid. I've seen it so many times, I think I have it memorized. Charlie Brown tries to find the true meaning of Christmas, but the rest of the Peanuts gang would rather give in to the commercialism. However, thanks to Linus van Pelt, the boy genius of the Peanutsverse, he tells us about the true meaning of Christmas. Of course Linus knows these things, he's the only one who can find the most sincere pumpkin patch in the neighborhood.
After watching Another Earth, I figured I kind of had to watch this movie. Both have planets swirling around each other, and disaster may be imminent. Although, in this film, the fate of the Earth is revealed very early on.
Ultimately, this movie is about depression. By the end of the film, I felt I had a somewhat better understanding of what it might be like to have depression. As an introvert, I saw some similarities. For example, my energy…
