Chuck’s review published on Letterboxd:
The additional 31 minutes in the Ultimate Edition really do add to this film, and it's a shame that this edition wasn't released theatrically. It helps tie things together, especially with respect to Lex Luthor's plans and how he helped nudge Superman and Batman to opposing sides.
There's a lot of material to cover here, and the UE does it... um... justice. Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are major characters. Pitting just one of them against Lex Luthor is enough for a single film, but all these character and story threads need room to breathe and develop.
Maybe they could have pulled off a Batman vs. Superman film further down the DCEU series, but as a second film? It might have been too soon for that. I'm no filmmaker, but it's fun to speculate.
