Adequate. Soggy middle section, with directorial flourishes the screenplay and tone don't really earn. Pales next to the masterpieces it will most likely be compared to, the recent American Godzilla and Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Clearly artistically neutered by corporate-minded cowardice, it nevertheless manages to be occasionally transgressive and ultimately fairly satisfying. Foreshadows the same second-guessing that would cataclysmically derail Solo.
