Cannes 2021 #10
My introduction to slow cinema and as of now it isn’t for me. The story was intriguing the acting was great the cinematography, score, and sound design was all wonderful! I just couldn’t handle the slow approach along with the static wide shots. There are moments of exterior forest shots that last three minutes just to cut to a different forest shot for another three minutes. I’m not complaining. I’m not angry. I want to learn to appreciate this art style I just don’t think this was the best introduction. Also the ending was ruined by a reveal that didn’t need to be explained.
