I think I originally had this one right. After completing the trilogy. The first is a modern classic, Dead Man’s Chest being much better than I remembered, and At Worlds End being a solid finale to a wonderful trilogy but strayed from the formula that made the first two great. Where? I think it’s the fun. At Worlds End had a great story, beautiful visuals, great character development but just couldn’t capture the magic of the first two in the fun factor. Still absolutely adore this trilogy tho.
I’m bumping this up a star. This is about the 3rd time I’ve seen it and it’s gets better with every watch. The story gets confusing a bit and at times it’s easy to be lost, but everything gets tied together for a fun ending to setup the 3rd. I know this gets beat to death but the CGI in this is arguably the best ever. Davey Jones and his crew are just jaw dropping visually. The Dutchmen was a cool ship and the Kraken is icing on the cake. 2 5 star movies in this franchise for me as I rewatch this series.
This sucked. It felt like a decently well made drug induced MTV music video, and not in a good way. The characters were pretty annoying, the “villains” were lame as hell and it wasn’t that funny. I did like the soundtrack and it gave me like 1 or 2 chuckles at most. Otherwise, this Amazon Original was garbage.

This review is gonna say a lot about my taste in movies, but oh well. This was perfect. I knew going into this with Reynolds and Michael Bay that this was gonna be some over the top absurdity, and that’s exactly what I wanted and got. It was pretty funny and just overall an absolute blast…
