This was REALLY fun! Clever, funny, and delightfully weird at times.
It feels like, perhaps not a spiritual sequel to Roger Rabbit (who also appears briefly), but definitely a modern, close cousin. Make no mistake, this is both a straight movie and a vehicle for joke/reference delivery. And that's fine. That's what Roger Rabbit was, too, and it should be judged in that vein as well.
This would have been terrific to see in a packed theater (minus the pandemic, of course).
Greatly exceeded my expectations. 👍
