Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Monty Python and the Holy Grail ★★★★★

Finally.

After a lifetime of references, I've seen it front to back.

Oh, I was intimately familiar with about 70% of the film, but seeing the sketches flow together as intended was a treat.

Among the scenes I was previously unfamiliar with:
- the 'Ni' knights needing shrubbery (the knights themselves, their reputation preceded them)
- Lancelot's violent idiom through a wedding
- the animator having a heart attack mid-drawing
- the entire police subplot
- actual implication of asking the european/african swallow clarification at the bridge
- lots of other little bits

A film worth it's well-worn reputation, now, for me, even better.
