    The Uninvited

An excellent horror film directed by Lewis Allen based on Dorothy Macardie's 1941 novel Uneasy Freehold, which was published in the US as The uninvited. It deals with a brother and sister who purchase a house in Cornwall,England, that is plagued by paranormal events.A cold-shiver melodrama at its best, and it uses no gimmicks to achieve its cold chills, the film is told with deadly seriousness, and very little comedy relief, its characters are intelligent adult human beings. And its not a conventional horror film, this will really give you the shudder. It is one of the few genuinely creepy supernatural films of that era,a superior ghost story.

An exciting,edge-of-the seat thriller directed by William Friedkin. It is the second adaptation of Georges Arnaud's 1950 novel. The plot depicts four outcasts from varied backgrounds meeting in a South American village, where they are assigned to transport cargoes of aged, poorly kept dynamite that is so unstable that it is "sweating" its dangerous basic ingredient, nytroglycerine.Criminally and unfairly maligned by critics when it was released,it remains an overlooked and unsung masterpiece. It obstinately motors along on its unpredictable speed, features ambitious sequences of insane white knuckle…

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

A creepy, entertaining horror film directed by Andre Ovredal, based on the children's book series by Alvin Schwartz.Like the bestselling series of books that inspired it,this film opens a creepy gateway into horror for younger genre enthusiasts. It faithfully re-creates the peak moments of half a dozen of Schwartz's most popular stories, but doesn't totally embrace the Gammell ( the illustrator )'s evocative and nightmarish vision. It's a remarkably insightful and sober in its assessment of the way stories control people, rather than the other way…
