Nick H.’s review published on Letterboxd:
Watched this over two days, thanks to YouTube.
I am of two minds: I appreciate the mundanity of it all, of Rivette’s true commitment to his craft, and to the sheer nothingness of the story (plot-wise, as compared to the interpersonal relationships we learn about throughout the saga).
However, there comes a point where a rehearsal take for a play (THAT WE NEVER EVEN SEE) goes on for twenty, twenty-five, thirty minutes or more, and I’m left cold by the sheer lack of editing. A shorter rendition of this (possibly Out 1: Spectre?) might be more appealing.
