the way this film is so purposely self-aware, perfection. with every rewatch I fall deeper in love with Scream, Wes Craven was a genius and with this film he changed the game forever. there’s (horror) cinema before Scream and there’s (horror) cinema after Scream and everything that came after has to face the comparison with this masterpiece and honestly I’m (not) sorry for them ‘cause it doesn’t get much better than THIS! there are so many iconic scenes and lines (!!!) and the performances?? top-tier! I mean Matthew Lillard here is lowkey Oscar worthy (kidding… but maybe I’m not).
Happy Halloween y’all and remember, if someone knocks at your door: “Never say who’s there? Don’t you watch scary movies? It’s a death wish.”
