  Watched this on a plane after finishing Stranger Things, jeez this was rough. Plot was nonsensical, humor fell flat, and no one even seemed like they were trying to make this fun.

  When I read about this and watched the trailers, and after watching Carax's earlier films, I felt like this was something that could have come out 20 years ago starring Denis Lavant, and that the fact it came out now when he was too old for the role that Driver would be a pale imitation.   First fifteen minutes? Great! We love Jim Cummings. The rest of it? Absolute nonsense. I get you have to kill time until the third one but this was the absolute dumbest storyline you could have come up with. Parts of it are interesting (the way it treats his house) but the rest of it didn't work. Imagine being in the room where they decided that "Evil Dies Tonight" was going to be a cool catchphrase and not the worst thing to repeat over and over for an hour. I think they knew this was a dud and kept Jamie Lee Curtis sidelined on purpose.
