"Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most.... [voice breaks] human."

Not just the best Star Trek film, but a legitimately great film to boot. Wrath of Khan is an excellent meditation on what it means to be human. Do the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few? Or the one?

Way better than I thought it would turn out! Alden Ehrenreich starts out kinda shaky, but becomes Han Solo by the end of the movie. The rest of the cast is great too, especially Childish Landino. There are some fan-servicy moments - which usually irritate me - but they're mostly handled in a subtle and enjoyable way.
I'll always be curious to see Lord and Miller's version, but what Ron Howard has done is incredibly impressive; I'd love to see him make one of these from start to finish.

Excellent film. Really smart screenplay and acting so impressive that one could almost forget they're watching a film filled to the brim with recognizable faces. One of the best neo-noirs ever made; a must-see for fans of the genre.

Nothing but respect for MY Best Picture 1997.

I don't want to do a spoilery review until the next time I see this (because I'm probably going to see this a bunch more times tbh), but there is something I wanted to address. So there's some really weird stuff in this movie. Rian Johnson has done something totally different with Star Wars, and while many people will dislike that I think it's utterly fantastic because it is so hard to break the mold with huge franchise films.
    That…
