I had a great many preconceptions about this film, and not a one of them was correct. Sublimely executed. Had always thought the suicide stuff would bother me but Vivian Pickles plays it to absolute perfection, as does Ashby - the pool is a worldie of a visual gag. And we all fancy Maude at least a bit, right?
