I finally worked up enough courage and cleared enough time to take in JEANNE DIELMAN over one long, dark viewing. Everyone in this movie had more heat than the two leads. Everything falls apart from there. Is this one of the worst movies ever made? Not by a long shot, but it is definitely a trainwreck, and feels like they had no time to shoot.
This is the movie we all need right now at this moment, although the filmmakers had no idea how relevant this movie would be at the time of its release. This is smart and subversive in some interesting ways. It knows that its audience has seen Groundhog Day and it pays homage to that material while forging a new path. It didn't quite stick the landing but I didn't care. I had a great time with this movie.

I’m not sure how well this film would work without Hopkins’ tour de force performance. He anchors this film and because of him you feel every step of the journey.
