In my brain this is an anime where the Shrek mentality (proving that she lacks self-esteem by giving up on her own self, who she is and the only life she's ever known how to live and then the ensuing process of awakening and acceptance followed by a life full of inevitable daily frustration that comes from regret and being trapped OR just a spoiled delusion of her that she'll find the answers to the gaps in her monotonous life by using a man's naivety) blends with the origin story of the cartoon Gumball and Darwin.
