After all the hating that happened on this a few years ago, I admittedly .. liked it .. quite a lot? The dialogue is *yawn* a bit much, but the camera work and art direction, *chef's kiss*
Went into this having seen ScreenPrism's “Remaking Suspiria: An Homage to a Feeling”, which I recommend watching before seeing the film.
I was particularly stunned by the sound design, combined with Thom Yorke's haunting score. The everlasting sound of rain clattering on the windows, for example, made me feel locked in the building with the dancers.
Beautiful cinematography, and not an unnecessary shot in sight. They set a remarkable mood and I was unable to take my eyes off the screen, even during the grimmest sequences.
Go see it on the big screen!
