I’m usually someone who hates the “gritty reboot”, but I would advocate for one for this. It is such a horrifying concept that this guy is stuck in a time loop for supposedly 33 years and tries to kill himself so many times.
But the comedy doesn’t feel out of place or weird, it still works so well, and kind of just accentuates the inherent absurdity of the situation. It has some heart, has some good laughs, and it has somewhat of a good message - which is left satisfyingly vague.
