Really didn’t care for it. Admired the art direction and Tilda Swinton was great, but the Nazi allegory stuff felt underdeveloped and heavy handed, and I didn’t get what the director was trying to say about any of it. And I find Dakota Johnson boring and unrelatable. Her character had no conflict at all and she didn’t seem like that great of a dancer. None of the fun of the original. The music was good. The three or so moments of giallo snap zooms felt out of place because the film didn’t feel like that was really part of the main style at all; it just felt like an empty homage.
