I’m kinda speechless. While I loved Kelly Reichardt‘s most recent film First Cow, I think I might actually prefer this. A lot of the themes presented here honestly really resonate with me on a personal level. I think a lot about my worn out friendships, where they went, what made them great, and clearly Reichardt thinks about this too. I just love the feel of her movies. She’s a master at creating such beautiful, somber, and cozy films. The score really added to…

One of the most beautiful, meaningful, and thoughtful films ever made. Ever since I first viewed this I haven’t stopped thinking about it. How it relates to me, what it means to me, and honestly how it understands me. I think that this film can genuinely mean something to anyone. Whether it’s love, lonelyness, creative ambition, so much is beautifully showcased through this powerful two hours. The screenplay is perfect, the direction is perfect, the performances are perfect, perfect perfect perfect. I wish I could tell Charlie Kafuman how much his films mean to me.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie more proud of the people and culture it’s representing than this. Despite not having any type of connection to Lin-Manuel Miranda or the play this was based on, I still had a really enjoyed this film! The songs and musical numbers are incredible. So many scenes are insanely choreographed and performed, simply bringing a massive smile to my face at the pure whimsicalness that they pulled off. All the themes of heritage…

Yeah... this pretty much speaks for itself. Absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. Incredible performances, stunning cinematography, extremely memorable characters and scenes, and masterful suspense too. For such a seemingly large story, I loved how simple it reveals itself to be. The directing was superb as well, and I adored how the Coens managed to still put in a little bit of their humour without taking away from the overall tone of the film. And that final scene couldn’t be more perfect.

    And then I woke up.”

This was insane. I know pretty much every review is going to mention this but I will definitely need to revisit this. People who thought that Inception was confusing are going to have a field day with this. Regardless, I enjoyed it!

To start with, The set pieces here are honestly next level good. The third act is probably one of the best for an action movie in recent memory. There has to be a ‘making of’ documentary with the…

Definitely not anything groundbreaking for Pixar, but this was still super cute! I really loved the characters, the animation had a unique style and of course looked stunning, and the way it utilised the Italian setting was great too. But while I liked the simplicity of the story, there’s certainly pretty predictable narrative beats at times, and the concept itself, while fun, I didn’t find to be too creative for the company, especially coming right after Soul. Really fun overall though! Pixar is finally back to making original movies again and I couldn’t be happier.
