A film like this is unbelievably rare. A film so majestic, so otherworldly, so powerful and emotional and bold… and a film that has reminded me of why I love the art of cinema. Denis Villeneuve has made, for me, his latest masterpiece - his dream film, Dune. What Villeneuve has crafted here is something that no other filmmaker could possible conjure in their wildest imagination. From the very first frame to the very last, this is honestly perfection. Not…

Not just one of my favourite films of all time, but also one of the most important films for me personally. When I watched this for the first time, I was completely stunned. It was one of the first films that actually challenged me, that made me think and reflect on what I just experienced. Honestly if it wasn’t for Blade Runner, I may have not even became obsessed with film in the first place. As for the movie itself, obviously,…

A MASSIVE disappointment. Alex Garland going from Annihilation to this is actually insane to me. Shallow, pretentious, and has nothing much to say apart from ‘men are bad’. The first half is genuinely really engaging, there’s a great sense of dread and intrigue that’s built up, it’s crisply shot, and it leaves you with the impression that it’s going to build towards something meaningful. Instead, it basically turns into an unintentional parody of the ‘elevated horror’ genre it’s apart of with…

Actually a good IP crossover film! It’s really funny how it satirises the animation industry, Hollywood in general, and even Disney themselves, while tying it all into an enjoyable adventure film. The cameos and visual-humour though! CRAZY! How did they even get away with some of this stuff? I guess the Disney money can really acquire anything these days. This was fun though! There’s a few pretty bad and (unintentionally) cliched ‘emotional moments’ that absolutely don’t work considering how absurd everything in the film is, but other than that this was clever, consistently funny for the most part, and very entertaining.

This was insane. I know pretty much every review is going to mention this but I will definitely need to revisit this. People who thought that Inception was confusing are going to have a field day with this. Regardless, I really enjoyed it!

To start with, The set pieces here are honestly next level good. The third act is probably one of the best for an action movie in recent memory. There has to be a ‘making of’ documentary with…

You know what? I actually liked this! Many people have already stated their hatred for this film, and I can completely see where they’re coming from. Not everything works, from the strange pacing during the first act, the under-developed ideas , the plot convenience, how messy the film is at parts, but there was a bunch of stuff that I genuinely really enjoyed which can make me look past all that! Ben’s redemption arc, the send off for the the…
