Eamon Thomas Hennedy’s review published on Letterboxd:
A sensational production and one of the best pieces of horror that television has ever produced. Mike Flanagan's elegant reimagining of Shirley Jackson's novel is truly magnificent, offering a genuinely creepy atmosphere, well used jump scares that it doesn't solely rely on and a wonderful ensemble.
Best of all, it builds to a conclusion that is truly affecting and poignantly unforgettable, its ghosts, spirits and use of haunted house tropes hiding in plain sight a devastating portrait of love, loss and grief that ensures that there will be tears.
