Taylor Baker’s review published on Letterboxd:
Genuinely and unredeemably awful.
Everyone complaining about the age of Platt is just picking at a snowflake in the wind, he's what two years older than McAdams in Mean Girls? Get over it. I will say it is funny to watch him play this character less than a week after seeing him play his sex tape character in The Premise.
The film fails to take off foundationally. It is absent intent, specificity, empathy, nuance, and originality. Kaitlyn Dever deserved more, Moore and Adams were wasted. Everyone and everything was a charicature. Luckily this is sandwiched between In the Heights and West Side Story or else the studios would probably think people don't want musicals after this bombs, missing the point that we want quality, sincere, and engaging ones.
