Another Nicolas Cage heist film from the director of Con Air? Be still my heart!
Listen, after Uncut Gems, I don't know how much my body can take anymore. I wasn't built for this. Anyway, this is a very brave (and violent!) remake of a classic and it works. Feels like it came from a very strong script although there are a few moments in its execution that lost me. An impressive, grounded debut from Nosipho Dumisa. I can't wait to see what she does next, if my heart's stopped racing by then. Pam should've definitely dumped her boyfriend a long time ago though.
Hannah Gadsby has sold out theatres with Nanette.
The one time I saw her perform, I was front row at a trial run held before she took the show on tour. It was very small. Very intimate.
She talks about jokes on a basic level: 1) build up the tension 2) diffuse it with a punchline. She talks a lot about tension and you feel it because it's true. She talks about how she feels about men, not hating them…
