Y Tu Mamá También

A film of individuals, two who don’t yet realize the consequences of their actions, and one who is trying to relieve herself of the pain of her past and present through reckless sexual experimentation. I adore how this film uses its freeform design to fool you into thinking it’s just going to be a sexually charged road trip movie, only to completely pull the rug out from under you in its final moment to genuinely make a statement on what it means to make mistakes and to live life while thinking about how you’ll be the next morning. I adored falling under its spell.

And its title is a “yo mama” joke. What more could I ask for?
