This film was an experiment. THE INTERVIEW (2014) was an experiment.
Each film had good moments separated by huge gaps of meaninglessness and excruciating gratuity. Both were fascinating ideas to tackle but ultimately fell flat.
I applaud the attempt to break new ground along with a few good moments- (Letterman, fight at the concert)
Ending in Panama was a fine choice.
The takeaway for me, is that people would rather ridicule those undergoing a personal crises than try to help. However, when you're a self-righteous asshole, you can only spark so much sympathy.
