Oscar 1991
Farcical comedies are a lost art.
Exhibit A: OSCAR.
It is so underappreciated as a comedy.
We’ve got gangster iconography everywhere, silly gags, crackling dialogue, and some joyful filmmaking in so many scenes.
This could have been a disaster in the wrong hands.

Days of Thunder 1990
The thing about A Don Simpson & Jerry Bruckheimer Production?

Real shit, biggest stunts, biggest booms, biggest movies.

Top Gun 1986
A perfect storm of 1980s Hollywood, making something that’s left a mark on the pop culture landscape.
The performances, the music, the action, the Legacy, man.
Tony Scott breaking through, Tom Cruise’s starmaking role, as well as Val Kilmer’s.
Looking back on it, it’s insane how much was poured into Top Gun.
The fact that it all came together and worked as well as it did is one of the biggest success stories of 1980s action filmmaking.
Great shit, man.
