    Rewatch is even better. One of the best films of last decade. About the quest for power, the slipperiness of identity, how genuine love dissipates with money, how love is treated as a transaction, how domestic violence is allowed to go unchecked, how malevolence breeds malevolence, how rape revenge films get it all wrong.


    The fact that nothing happens after *that* big moment -- and the fact that the 'wrong' person indirectly pays for it... *chef's kiss*.

    The best film of Cannes goes to Bi Gan’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night, a sleepy dreamscape that features an extraordinary second-half turn.
