Glass is what would happen if you hired comic book writer Tom King to write a sequel to Unbreakable. With that, you’re not getting an action-packed thriller: this is a thinkpiece on superheroes as a whole. This isn’t a simple crowd-pleasing movie like The Force Awakens that plays it too safe. A Donnie Darko-esque millennial noir from the director of It Follows? Sounds good to me. Kept me reeled in for the entire runtime, loving every second of this weird portrait that David Robert Mitchell painted. It’s certainly not for everybody, but it’s destined to become a huge cult classic.
