Edwin Davies’s review published on Letterboxd:
Tremendous fun. Eddie Murphy gives one of his best performances, full of blistering charisma but tinged with a desperate desire to succeed at all costs. The supporting cast is fun, with Wesley Snipes being a particular highlight, and it moves beautifully through Rudy Ray Moore’s initial success to the chaos of the Dolemite shoot. A nice counterpart to Ed Wood, minus the Pyrrhic victory.
