    Hereditary explores familiar yet complex themes such as grief and mental illness effectively, and manages to pair it up with interesting religious lore. The imagery is incredibly disturbing, and the acting is realistic, probably the best I've seen this year. The film is well shot and directed, and its nonstop tension assures a chilling cinematic experience. One of the best I've seen in some time.
