• Mothra vs. Godzilla

    Mothra vs. Godzilla

The fourth Godzilla movie, this one has a lot to offer. When a giant egg floats onto a beach, it is immediately bought by the Happy Corporation to be used as an attraction. Despite please to return the egg from Infant Island, the egg's home, the capitalists refuse the divine call and are steadfast in their conviction to squeeze the maximum amount of money out of the situation.

The human story in this one is actually pretty good and maintains…

  • Stand and Deliver

    Stand and Deliver

I really enjoyed this movie. It's inspiring and you care for the class and their success. However, I never got a grasp on any of the characters in a well-defined way. The acting is phenomenal, especially Edward James Olmos, but I couldn't tell you very much about any of them. I don't think the screenplay earns the transformation of the high schoolers. Sure Professor Escalante expects more of them but is that really all it takes to help underprivileged kids.…

  • Ready or Not

    Ready or Not

This movies spoils an excellent premise. It would have been drastically improved by more well-defined characters, leaning into it's ridiculous premise, and ramping up the humor. For such a silly concept, it takes itself too seriously most of the time.

If you want an evil rich family caper in a manor, check out Knives Out. If you want goofy cults, check out Cabin in the Woods. Most of what this movie attempts has been done far better elsewhere.

This is a classic case of the trailer overselling a movie. I was disappointed.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog

    Sonic the Hedgehog

"Sonic The Hedgehog" is a fun, low-effort, family film. It is entertaining and funny but isn't likely to bring you back for rewatch viewings. However, I have to admit, that if this movie existed when I was a kid, I would have LOVED it.

What this movie lacks for in originality it makes up for in energy and execution. All of the actors are fully committed to their roles (especially Jim Carrey as Robotnik) and the humor is consistently funny.…

I love this movie more everytime I see it.

  • The Last of the Mohicans

    The Last of the Mohicans

Thinly drawn and uninteresting characters. Incomprehensible action. Poorly acted. Above all, boring.

    However, the scenery is pretty.

  • Game Night

    Game Night

Funny high concept comedy. 2nd half looses steam but well worth checking out.

  • The King of Comedy

    The King of Comedy

It's one of the most unnerving yet magnetic movies I have seen. DeNiro is phenomenal.

  • Hard Eight

    Hard Eight

Great debut from PTA. Well made and well acted. It didn't quite come together for me in a satisfying way though.

  • Godzilla vs. Megalon

    Godzilla vs. Megalon

It's definitely not great but is a really fun B monster movie to introduce the kids to Godzilla. Megalon, Jet Jaguar, Gigan, and Godzilla all battle it out here, I just wish it got there sooner.

  • You've Got Mail

    You've Got Mail

Really sweet and romantic comedy. The chemistry is great. However, the gimmick wears thin by the ends of the movie and I was ready for the characters to simply talk to each other.

    Trick 'r Treat

Super fun Halloween movies. Cheesy in the best ways. A perfect holiday movie.
