like the best of cinema/art it's mainly about how low the stakes are in life because everyone has the same problems of which theres infuriatingly no solution for and all you can do is live with as much style as you can
one of those problems is that its hard to have style without xyz so thats TLfS more or less. Paranoid in the best most comfortable way.

Killers of the Flower Moon 2023
Really horrible. Scorsese obviously loves movies, but this just shows how unable he is to make a movie that isn't about class mobility. He is the opposite of Lynch. His movies concern not the horror and freedom of moving down the social latter, but the joys of complicity in and the inevitable entrapment of moving up it.
It's incredible how forgettable all this is.
Reminded me a ton of Asteroid City in how quickly everything happens despite how "slow" it…
