  I understand why everyone loves this show. It’s definitely ambitious, and Anno essentially using hormonal teenagers undergoing puberty to deal with existentialism and depression is pretty cool- in theory. There’s a sincere heart at the center of this story, one that’s ultimately meant to declare that we- the audience- must make the choice to live better, fulfilling lives. We must keep trying despite the pain.

  This movie made me confident in my decision to delete most of my social media presence. Only a matter of our time before our “addiction to spectacle” blows up in our faces. 

  Also I think I have an irrational fear of monkeys right now.
