Is it really worth 5 stars? Maybe, there's stuff I'd like to have been done differently, but this is the movie which reflects the stuff I was reading as a kid, and so nostalgia rules.

Better than the scores suggest, Noomi is always great, but is let down here by some of the direction and editing.

Gets 2.5 overall on Letterboxd but reviews with words associated seem very negative. All revenge / assassin / glorified violence movies are problematic, and the female roles are not helping here either. But as some popcorn fodder it's no worse than John Wick in my view (ethically that is). Mads is superb, I love how over the top everything is except him, works very well.

Enjoyable example of the genre, if you hate the genre you'll hate this example of it.

Someone said this was good and the overall scores were okay. I should have trusted my initial instincts because it wasn't worth the effort.

Like an assassin-romcom without any com.

  • Mortal Engines

Not enough detail, too much of everything else. Three films might have worked better.

    Well, that sucked.

No better or worse than most similar male revenge movies.
