“We see a deadly sin on every street corner, in every home, and we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it's common, it's trivial. We tolerate it morning, noon, and night.”

This movie is a classic and one of David Fincher’s best and I enjoyed it even more on a rewatch.
This movie starts out as an usual cop drama, but it soon reveals a more complicated and brutal mystery of killings based on the seven deadly sins.
The movie is a bit of a slow burner, but the ending and the dark atmosphere totally makes up for it.
The movie is very dark and the atmosphere is quite scary, while the absurdity and brutality of the murders are terrifying too.
The actors and their characters were great, since we got a rookie detective and a soon to be retired detective working on this case, that will be the worst they will ever work on. Brad Pitt added a certain confidence in his role, while Morgan Freeman perfected the calm old detective, who have seen it all and together their characters gave two different perspectives on the case. Kevin Spacey nailed his role too and he was a terrifying villain.
The last 20 minutes was one of the most disturbing endings of it’s time, which is why it still is so iconic.
