A Prophet ★★★★½

Forgetting about the racial stereotypes, and the Scarfaces and the Carlitos we've come to known, Un Prophete is intimate in its detail but almost epic in scope, with an ambitious screenplay and voracious characters solidly portrayed by a talented cast, consolidating a memorable modern crime drama with some critique undertones against the justice system, especially in the U.S. and Europe, where criminals and imprisoned people are given luxuries, tools and even the opportunity to develop a mentality of time and action organization that they did not have before, transforming them into more dangerous and sophisticated persons when they are released once again.
