Edgar Cochran’s review published on Letterboxd:
We travel back more than 110 years in time and see this one-minute Lumière masterpiece. After seeing the exploited laborers and how the women were differentiated from men as a social class, we ask ourselves: how much have things really changed? Was Lumière only trying to recreate how things were by the time, or did he really expect that this piece would survive more than a full century, transcend and subsequently mirror the current reality? Irony at its best? Quite probably, yet also a historical treasure to reflect on our past and build a better future.
