super entertaining and incredibly impressive. i'm not a big horror fan simply because i get so scared so easily, but a genre defining low budget indie film with no jumpscares? perfect! the found footage angle and "true story" narrative are executed successfully thanks to the great acting and realistic pacing. it's just slow and boring enough to feel plausible, but not too boring when you follow the banter and arguing between the three characters. the shaky camera and bad lighting…

    noah flynn hate club!

acting, plot, and execution-wise this is one of the better netflix teen movies... but that's not a high bar. all the tropes are there, for better and for worse, and the miscommunication/"we have to keep this a secret" plot is as fucking cheap as ever. if this movie was just the montage sequences (which there are many of), it would've been half decent!

there's so much weird slut-shaming, sexism, and "empowerment" in this movie?? one moment…
