TANYA’s review published on Letterboxd:
I remember seeing this film for the first time 10 years ago. Oh, how we were so terrified with the Pale Man, and outraged with the captain! But I also remember how my younger brothers and I were truly enchanted, yet feeling utterly sad for our dear Ofelia, who truly gave such remarkable performance.
Thus tonight, I tried revisiting it again, and this time, with my mum. It actually has a simple story (of course it’s open for metaphorical interpretations), but it has never failed to captivate and give me such emotions; to recall and remember my both bitter and happy childhood; with such big scope for the imagination, I remember how I was once a believer of fairytales and creatures, half-living in my imaginary world.
Overall, Pan’s Labyrinth was still as incredible, magical, beautiful, sad as the first time, and my heart still aches.
