The Master ★★★½

I'm not sure about this one. This is the first Paul Thomas Anderson movie that I've watched that I didn't immediately adore. While his last movie channeled his inner Kubrick, this one at times seemed like he was channeling his inner Woody Allen. That's not a bad thing either, I love Allen.
The movie could have used with more score in certain points. Anderson is usually quite heavy on the music/score, so I'm not sure if this is a new direction or just for this movie. I certainly hope it was just for this film.
While I was slightly disappointed with this movie, it well definitely get a rewatch soon. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more on the second viewing!

And when is he going to start putting Philip Baker Hall back in his movies again?!?
