Voice-overs aren't usually done well, but in some cases like this, it really works nicely. This shows that Alfonso is a good filmmaker with talent. I especially like the scene when the boys are playing pool and she's on the phone with her ex. It's simple, but very good blocking in my opinion. I'm trying to learn more in film. I've recently been very interested in blocking. It's what makes the story and film interesting. I'm going to try and see all of Alfonso's films. I learn so much by just watching his films.
