Eli Hayes’s review published on Letterboxd:
Hoop-Tober 2.0 (cont'd), Film 34:
"Deputy... is it possible for you to close that aperture?"
this was the perfect movie to watch with a broken toe
seriously though, Bone Tomahawk is surprisingly fantastic
what little crevice did this merciless gem sneak out of?
it's a directorial debut from a filmmaker
whose works feels that of a twenty year veteran
they aren't lying when they say this this is a horror film
it's just not the kind of horror film you're expecting
read nothing about it, go in blind; I did, and I was stunned
snuck up on me like a goddamn coyote.
"This is why frontier life is so difficult.
Not because of the indians,
or the elements,
but because of the idiots!"
(fair warning though, this eventually becomes one of
the most brutal things you could possibly choose to watch)
