A parody on the film industry, ‘Tropic Thunder’ gives enough attention to its craftsmanship while also not taking itself too seriously, winding up making it a hilarious action-comedy that’s aged pretty well.
The idea is so perfect, but could’ve been executed terribly. Thankfully, Stiller having his hands everywhere on this made everything cohesive.
All the performances are great, but no one stands out more than Tom Cruise as Les Grossman. It’s amazing seeing him in something like this, and I’m glad Stiller pushed him to try something more out there.
Great comedy, especially if you’re familiar with the inside of the industry. Quotable lines and all around fun make it super enjoyable.
