“Bingo! The kid gets a prize.”
Not since The Lego Movie has this many cross-overs audibly made me say: “What the fuck?”
Even if you’re not affiliated with the original series I think this still tells a clever story and makes the premise fun. There’s just more fun to be had if you grew up with the source material.
I absolutely loved that after-credits scene.
Really charming and fun and self-aware. There’s a lot of heart and soul to this and it serves as a nice love letter to movies.
It’s nice to have a comedy that’s centered around a plot with actual scripted jokes and not just actors improv-ing at each other for 90 minutes.
Some moments just kinda happen and you have to go along with it but overall I had a good time with this.
My favorite werewolf design in film. I love how it looks and moves like an actual beast and not just a guy in makeup. The shot of it approaching the man on the subway escalator is transcendent.
Also one of the best soundtracks ever put in a horror movie. Banger after banger of moon themed songs that are both catchy and relevant.
I have issues with some of the characters’ motivations being negligent, but I appreciate how brisk the pacing…
