the whole focus of this movie was the girls and their strict home lives, however it’s completely glamourised as it’s shown from the male gaze (specifically teenage boys). these girls were neglected and abused within their strict religious household, which eventually lead to their suicides but yet their lives are romanticised. the boys in the movie are “obsessed” with these girls and in awe of their beauty, this really shows the objectification of young girls and in reality their obsession…
