Head Count isn’t your typical teenage slasher movie like I thought it would be, it’s definitely a slow burn but never boring. The acting was decent enough and the cinematography was really great in some scenes. The overall plot was pretty original in its own way, it reminded me of the movie “It Follows” but way better. This is a definitely a Netflix gem and is worth a watch.
Time loop movies like this are always interesting for the first couple of “loops” until they just get really repetitive and dragged out. There is also never a good explanation as to why the loops happen in the first place. I didn’t hate this movie but in the end couple of scenes I got quite bored and wanted it to hurry up and end.
I put off watching this movie for a while because I thought it would be somewhat like The Poughkeepsie Tapes style mockumentary, which I didn’t like at all. But I was pleasantly suprised at how much of a self-aware, horror/comedy this was.
