These films are so fun! Love this duo. Of course there are a few poorly aged jokes here and there, but honestly not as much as one might expect from a 90s action comedy. Makes me want to watch the Fifth Element just to see more prime Chris Tucker.

I feel like this film is probably better on a rewatch. Most of the plot of the film is just irrelevant to that “deeper meaning” that ultimately leaves Bateman unpunished for his crimes and appear like a nutter. Before that becomes apparent, though, there’s a decent amount of monotony and brutality to get through.

A slow burn that's almost torturous. When the real plot of the movie arrives, it feels both unexpected, but also makes sense- so many small details in the movie become important later, everything feels connected. The performances are all great...so much so, that the uncomfortable moments between characters are almost hard to watch. Rose's character is compelling, she's in a new environment and has to deal with not only living up to expectations, but constantly feeling unwelcome-something almost suffocating to…

Good movie if you ignore the writing, dialogue, and plot. Actually now that I say that-mighta had some potential as a silent film. Don't even remember what the movie was about-but the kills were BRUTAL and would up having some good suspense.

Incredible performances. It feels weird not giving it 4 stars, but man the talk on 'fat women' and transgender people leaves a really bitter taste in my mouth. Besides that, the story is genuinely scary, and watching Hopkins is terrifying and exciting, really adds a lot to the film. Jodie Foster is also incredible, and rooting for her throughout the movie is fun.

Watching this again, I can enjoy just how silly some of this movie is. Still-the tension that is almost completely unaddressed between Jim and John makes me go kinda crazy. Like-there's no way no one in the production room didn't notice. The ridiculous chase and action scenes are fun, especially knowing they're practical. The ending leaves me feeling mixed. I still think about this movie several times a week.

the hannibal / clarice prison scenes remind me so much of when my girlfriend drinks at home. she'll have a couple and i won't at all (had to quit, just hit 7 years - bless!) and then she'll just stare at me with her big little Anthony Hopkin eyes and ask me a series of progressively more intrusive questions, beg me to tell her a secret about myself, and complain about wanting more chianti.

I'm conflicted here. On one hand, Sheryl Lee gives one of the most tragic performances I've ever seen, the way her character hurtles toward tragedy all while unpacking some of the most heartbreaking trauma I've ever seen in a movie ever. On the other hand though, there's a lot of other visuals, scenes, and characters that feel entirely distracting while I want to see more of how Laura is doing. Yes, I know it connects to the plot of the…

I feel like I just watched the first 3 movies again, but with the current pop culture references. It's not bad, but it left me wanting more. The protagonist in this one is so boring to me. All the characters were boring actually and I couldn't wait to see them die after we were introduced to them. It's not a bad movie, though I still recommend it.

What can I even say. The last like 15 mins of this film......visually horrifying. The acting....maybe not the best. The message? Well I'll quote the Joker here: we live in a society.

Here’s the pitch: it’s a monster movie, but the monster is inherited trauma. Or maybe the monster is the meth epidemic in the Pacific Northwest.

No? What if the whole thing was an environmental parable? Or what if the monster somehow had its origins in indigenous folklore? Or what if…
