Short Film No. 22
Another great short from Biola film! The Montgomery Brothers have made lots of great shorts, but I was very impressed with this one. The cinematography and the technical areas like the lighting really shined here, and I love the great amount of detail put into every sequence. My favorite part of this film is definitely the social commentary and the dialogue that points to the main themes. The characters and different scenes in the film creatively address addiction and attachment to our screens, particularly our phones. This distracts us from engaging in meaningful conversations and even in our identity. More than calling out the problem, The Flower Man gives an upbeat message to a solution, to intentionally reach out to someone who may be going through a tough time and need someone to talk to. Great work that I recommend to everyone!
