    so me and a friend crashed the premiere of this in london in 2014 and we met andrew garfield over the barrier and he said that he couldn't take pictures with us but that we could each have a hug instead and that a hug was way better than a picture anyway and he was right and it was the purest interaction i have ever had with someone in my life

    over the past few years, this has become one of my favourite comfort films. it doesn’t really surprise me; i’ve always been a sucker for beautiful food on camera. not only that but it is visually gorgeous, the soundtrack is perfect and the whole cast deliver wonderful performances. after hearing that julie powell passed away last week, this rewatch is tinged with sadness but it still feels like a warm hug.
